1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Hot air balloon trip.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

The walking is quite rugged in places - you do need at least one walking pole.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Regretfully, the hot air balloons do use a lot of fuel, but they do also provide a lot of jobs. We visited the carpet weaving school, but there was little evidence of education. They do apparently employ a lot of home-working women, but the premises the company operates from were palatial and staffed by very slick salesmen! One hopes that they at least ensure there is good lighting and ventilation where the women work, and that schooling is available for the children.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

There was a huge problem with my outbound flights and a lesser problem with my inbound flight. The operator have been very apologetic and we are still negotiating recompense and compensation. However, I greatly enjoyed the holiday; we had an excellent guide who was knowledgeable, risk aware and always interesting to talk to. I would give a rating of 5 stars if I had not had the travelling difficulties.

Thank you for leaving a review, Hanne. We hope you had a great trip, but were sorry that you did not feel our contributions to local communities and the environment were noticeable during the holiday. The trip supports the local economy by visiting locally owned restaurants, sourcing any food locally and visiting local shops with groups; we also use local drivers for any transportation. We have further made a conscious effort to reduce directly provided single use plastics and are constantly reviewing this with the aim of lessening our environmental impact, and are confident that our tours have made huge strides recently in this regard.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Beautiful scenery, which was amazing to walk in, but almost more spectacular when seen from a hot air balloon. Lovely, like-minded people to travel with; we shared lots of laughs.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Ensure you have plenty of small denomination Turkish Lira notes rather than the larger ones you often get when exchanging money in the U.K.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes to the first one. Locally based tour guide & driver. We ate at excellent nearby restaurants.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Excellent.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Hot air ballooning over the terrain of Cappadocia early in the morning with 100 other balloons

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

We stopped in Goreme where there are a number of places to obtain Turkish currency, including Bank, Post Office, Money exchange offices, ATMs so no need to take lots of currency out with you and the exchange rates are excellent. There are lots of local providers of hot air ballooning with 100 balloons in the air each day. We ballooned with Rainbow Balloons which were excellent and the pilot (Mustafa) was very professional and finished the flight with a champagne celebration upon successful landing and presentation of flight certificates to everyone.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

The hot air ballooning was provided by a local company. During our daily trekking we stopped at local cafes for lunch. Evening meals were taken at different local cafes and restaurants.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Excellent
