Yes, whole trip overland and we stayed in small hotels and ate in local restaurants4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

seeing big 5 on safarihiking in lesotho - using am local villager as a guide... he knew the way but not a trained guide - a few hairy moments - but exciting and such stunning scenery. hiking in Drakensberg. wine tasting stellenbosch. Robben island, table mountain too many to list!2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
book your own flights and pre-trip accommodation as the tour operator charge more3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Definitely used local accommodation and some community projects in Lesotho espcially. All accommodation seemed mindful of its environmental impact Safari rangers all local and great care and knowledge of the animals4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
One of the best trips I've ever done. We were a very small group of 5. Became like a family by the end. The guide Herman and driver Brilliant were also excellent. Fun friendly knowledgeable and professional.Read the operator's response here:

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Kruger National Park, Roark's Drift, Malealea: an enchanting place with great scenery, local music, colourful lodgings. The guides were so enthusiastic and caring and they did a great job of showing us the best of their country.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
There are some very long days of driving so be prepared for that! For single travelers, ask to be placed in a cabin near the other cabins.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, especially at Malealea4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Lovely holiday. EXCEPT: most of the pools at the lodgings were closed or not in use. At Tsitsikama I got a tiny little cabin in the forest (not on the beach) that was dark and damp and obviously a cheaper room than all the others and I paid the single supplement. Seeing leopards for the first time after many trips to 'leopard countries', being 2/3 metres on foot from a white rhino, being 4/5 metres on foot from a cheetah on a kill, a great group dynamic, great tour leader and assistants, friendly local people, great walking opportunities....so much!2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
In future the camping element of this trip is being dropped. Pack as lightly as you can (frequent laundry opps) but be aware of big temperature swings, we experience forty to seventeen degrees centigrade as daytime temperatures.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, there were constant efforts by the local organisers to use small, local companies for services and in Lesotho there is a direct link with a local community project. We were always urged to avoid creating waste and to be careful with water waste in drought areas.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
It rates very high in our list of best holidays. It is a varied programme with many optional activities available, expertly led, great meals catered during camping and remote lodge elements.Holiday Reviews
